Beat The Heat 🔥
Sun protection
On hot days, sun protection should be part of your outfit, not just something you apply before leaving. Wear sunglasses and a cap or hat, use sunscreen on exposed skin, and choose clothing that gives extra coverage without feeling heavy.
Lightweight long-sleeve shirts, airy trousers and UV-protective fabrics are especially useful for hiking, travel days, water activities or long city walks. They help reduce direct sun exposure while still keeping you comfortable in the heat.
Hydration on the go
In hot weather, staying hydrated is not optional — it is part of your gear. Always carry a water bottle, even for shorter walks, city days or travel. An insulated bottle helps keep your drink cold for longer, while a lightweight refillable bottle is easy to carry in a daypack.
For hikes, long sightseeing days or active summer programs, plan your refill points in advance and drink regularly before you actually feel thirsty. On especially hot days, electrolytes can also help replace what you lose through sweating.
Smart planning and easy packing
A little planning goes a long way on hot days. Start your hike or city walk early in the morning, take longer breaks in the shade, and avoid the strongest midday sun whenever possible.
Pack a small daypack with the basics: water, sunglasses, a cap, sunscreen, a light towel and a thin extra layer for air-conditioned places, windy viewpoints or cooler evenings.
For longer days outside, it is also worth bringing snacks, electrolytes and a refillable bottle so you can stay comfortable from morning to sunset.
