Pinch Belay Device

Innovative and versatile single-rope belay device with assisted braking, offering a new experience in belaying: versatile for sport climbing, multi-pitch routes, and industrial rope techniques. It is the first device on the market that can be directly attached to the central belay loop of the harness. The advantage of the body-close position is that while feeding rope, the device does not need to be separately secured, and the braking strand can always be held firmly with one hand.

The compact system provides a larger rope-feeding range, allowing the belayer to release 20–30 cm more rope in a single motion. The front steel braking grooves provide a linear rope plane, reducing rope twisting during descent and lowering. In addition to lever-controlled descent regulation, the pressure of the braking hand also influences the speed, offering greater control, especially with thinner, softer ropes.

The built-in panic stop function provides extra safety—not just for beginners. The device has two braking levels: if the panic stop is unintentionally activated (e.g., with a very light climber or high rope friction), pulling the lever further allows for controlled lowering. Experienced users and industrial climbers can permanently disable the panic stop function with an included screw if desired.

An additional advantage for multi-pitch routes is that the Pinch is the only device that can be attached at the belay station in four different directions—in 90° increments. This allows the lever to always be positioned for free handling.
